And nighttime and morning were the first day.

On the second day, God divided the waters that were under the heavens from the waters that were above the heavens, and He called the sky to separate the waters.

On the third day, God brought together the waters that were under the heavens into one place, and the ground appeared. God designated the dry land Earth, and the gathering of waters He named Seas. And God saw that it was good. Then God produced plants to grow on the earth, bearing seed according to their kinds and trees yielding fruit with seed in it, according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

And evening and morning were the third day.
